Complete List of In-Game Resources and How to Get More
Food, Lumber, Stone Ore
These are the bread and butter of your Evony experience. They're used for upgrading your buildings, training troops, and healing troops. They drop from kill monsters/bosses, in-city production, gathering from tiles, and almost every event imaginable.
Food, in particular, is your most important resource and players will always be short on food boxes. Be sure to check out this guide on how to maximize your food.
Gems are universally useful but most of the time they can be replaced by either time or other resources. However, the two things that gems are used exclusively for are:
- Getting your first dragon (300,000 gems and Pasture level 26)
- Cultivating your generals from +300 to +500
These are primarily obtained through events such as world boss, undead march, and server vs server wars. Otherwise, buying them with cash is the primary way most players get the majority of their gems.
Stamina
Stamina is the lifeblood of the game. Where gold is a universal resource in most other games, Stamina is the universal resource in this game. Nearly everything in the game requires stamina to do other than farming tiles, and by using Stamina you can hunt bosses and participate in events to receive more of every other resource.
The most common sources of stamina are from events such as Lucky Eggs, Lucky Composing and Dwarf's Lucky Apple. You can also get free tavern from the stamina or trade gems for stamina at the store (recommended 10x a day for 200 gems per 50 stamina) and also at the black market for 300 gems per 50 stamina.
Speedups
Speedups in the game can be difficult to pick up without spending as they do not drop from most event bosses. Initially, players may find their primary source of speedups to be lower-level bosses and fenrir boxes. However, as alliances outgrow these bosses the primary method of obtaining speedups will be through the RSS consumption event which occurs once every four weeks.
If you save your resources and can spend up to five billion of each this will maximize the number of speedups you have.
Unlike most other games, gold tends to be relatively less useful. However, it's still VERY useful as gold is used to upgrade your technology research, purchase generals from the tavern, and upgrade your generals.
At the beginning of the game, gold can be difficult to come by and is primarily from levying your keep for gold. However, every Monday through Wednesday is the Viking event. Once your alliance can kill hard Vikings you'll be flush with more gold than you'll ever know what to do with.
Another resource you'll get from Vikings, Chips are used to spin the Wheel of Fortune, which is the only place you can get Raged King, used to complete the first General Hall exhibit. This is important as it's required to unlock many powerful artifacts.
Artwork Chests
Used to unlock various trinkets in the art hall, collecting enough of each one will eventually allow you to unlock powerful passive abilities. These are primarily collected through killing Junior Hydra.
Refining Stones
You will never have enough refining stones, and even a few hundred thousand go by quickly. Save these until you have Achimenidae or Ares gear to upgrade. Refining your gear gives you access to powerful stat boosts and will be where the majority of your strength comes from.
These drop from various sources by Hydra are a good source of them.
Various materials will drop from the boxes and chests, which are used to feed your dragon and craft gear for your generals. These drop from nearly everywhere but Vikings and Hydra are your best source of them. You can also create a limited amount a day through your research factory.
Research Stones
Research Stones are used for upgrading high-level technology and to build/upgrade your wonder. These will be primarily earned through killing Vikings but you can also create them through your research factory.
Badges are used to upgrade your Dragon Gear to Ares and to build/upgrade your wonder. They can also be used to refine your dragon. Your primary source of badges will be from Battle of Constantinople.
Dragon Stones are used to refine your dragons and to unlock your second dragon. Your primary source of dragon stones will be from Battle of Gaugamela.
