Who Is the Strongest Archer General in the Game? Spoiler alert from the picture aside, the strongest archer generals in the game are generally accepted to be Simeon the Great, Alfred the Great, Elektra, and Minamoto no Yoshitsune. Below, you'll find a detailed comparison of what makes them the strongest and we'll go into more depth on why in just a minute.

Who Is the Strongest Archer General in the Game?

Spoiler alert from the picture aside, the strongest archer generals in the game are generally accepted to be Simeon the Great, Alfred the Great, Elektra, and Minamoto no Yoshitsune. Below, you'll find a detailed comparison of what makes them the strongest and we'll go into more depth on why in just a minute.

However, know that the current sorting of this list is the maximum theoretical power of each general, but this assumes the following:

1. All four specialties are unlocked
2. Predominantly a ranged march is used so March Size = Attack Damage
3. Skill Books: Ranged Range, Ranged HP, Ranged Attack (where available, otherwise March Size)

Who Is the Strongest Archer General Without Spending Money?

The strongest archer general without spending real money is Li Shimin from tavern or Winfield Scott/Minamoto no Yoshitsune from General Chest depending on if you have the patience to maximize their specialties. Gustavus Adolphus or Edward the Black Prince are also viable from tavern but do not spend your runestones on them.

Detailed Comparison of Archer General Attack Strength

Click on the header for "Total Attack" or "No Specials" to sort from high to low. "Total Attack" represents the total attack boost once you maximize all four specialties, and "No Specials" represents a general where you have not used any runestones.

While runestones are difficult to come by, using them on your primary archer general is still a good idea. That being said, if you do decide not to use many or any runestones on your archer general, Elektra becomes the strongest archer general.

* Tomyris

Tomyris is a special use-case general. She is the only archer general that has skill that increases the alliance war rally size by 5%. With her specialties maxed, this increases to 10%. Theoretically, Tomyris is the strongest rally leader in the game if your war hall is big enough and you have enough strong archer allies. She also has the second-highest Ranged HP boost in the game, only one percent below Edward. While this isn't enough to make her overpowered, if you are planning to lead rallies it may be beneficial to build up Tomyris for your alliance.

* Minamoto vs Elektra

In a solo attack, Minamoto will be stronger than Elektra as March Size translates to a 1:1 strength increase as compared to attack damage. However in rallies Elektra will outperform Minamoto as a result of limited war hall sizes.

Defensive Comparison

Generally speaking, Ranged marches will want to focus mainly on Ranged Attack, which tends to be the most important stat for ranged marches as their defensive stats are not particularly high to begin with. Most of the time for archers, a good offense is the best defense. That being said, defensive stats do add value as they will allow your archers to survive longer against other Archers and more importantly enemy siege attacks. The below summarizes defensive stats for generals in comparison to their attack, taking into account the 25% HP boost offered by the skillbook that everyone equips.

Conclusions

At the highest levels, the four main archer generals are even in their power but Simeon does pull ahead by a fraction of a point compared to Alfred, Elektra, and Minamoto. That being said, if you've invested runestones into any of those four then continuing to use that general is going to be your best bet as the majority of your stats will still come from your gear and refinements. If you don't plan on using many runestones and want a quick power boost, Elektra is the best beginning archer general as she starts off strong and ends up strong.
