Some websites may consider Hannibal the strongest monster hunter in the game. However, they did not take into consideration Martinus' massive base attack and attack growth. At maximum specialties, Martinus is the STRONGEST monster hunter in the game until you unlock Wonder 3 dragon, (Nidhog) at which point Hannibal will be the strongest. Assuming most players won't be able to unlock Wonder 3, for the majority of players, Martinus will be the strongest.
The reason for this is that Nidhog is stronger than Fafnir. However, Martinus can only use a dragon from Pasture.
LUCK is also an important attribute for monsters hunters, after all, you want to maximize the rewards that you receive from bosses. See note at bottom of the page on Caesar, Aethelflaed, and Baibars.
For mounted PVP Mounted HP is very important. However, when fighting monsters to drop wounded to zero the only important stats are Mounted Atk, Mounted Atk Against Monsters, and March Size.
Note that the current sorting of this list is the maximum theoretical power of each general, but this assumes the following:
- All four specialties are unlocked
- March Size translates to corresponding increases in Attack
- Skill Books: Mounted Attack, Mounted Attack Against Monsters, Luck
Note: Luck can also be replaced with March Size if you want to minimize wounded, but will greatly impact your growth rate.
Certain generals are unable to use mounted attack or mounted attack against monsters. March Size can be used as a replacement.
Who Is the Strongest Mounted Monster General Without Spending Money?
The strongest mounted monster hunter from the tavern without spending runestones is Li Jing if you are using the luck skill book and consider march size equal to attack. Even though he cannot equip the mounted attack skill book, he can use the march size skill book and has very high base attack.
Ulysses S. Grant and Martinus are stronger, but come from the general chest.
