So you've gone over the SVS FAQ and are feeling pretty confident that you understand what to do in SVS. Maybe you've even been playing SVS for a few months or years now, but want to get a clearer picture on how to win and do it efficiently. Below, we've broken down different strategies into three parts - What you can do, what your alliance can do, and what the server can do to maximize your chances of winning.

Introduction

Looking for Ways to WIN SVS?

So you've gone over the SVS FAQ and are feeling pretty confident that you understand what to do in SVS. Maybe you've even been playing SVS for a few months or years now, but want to get a clearer picture on how to win and do it efficiently. Below, we've broken down different strategies into three parts - What you can do, what your alliance can do, and what the server can do to maximize your chances of winning.

Check our guide below on how to improve your own scores as well as the alliance scores for maximum chances of victory!

Bonus Tip: Make sure to use this sneaky guide on how to hide your true level for some easy points!

Core Concepts

The two main things your server needs to do in order to win are:
  1. Score more positive points than the enemy server
  2. Not lose both thrones
With that in mind, we'll be zoning in on different strategies to score positive points and also pinpoint where you might run the risk of going negative. Throne War will be covered in a different article.

Things YOU Can Do

Hunt for Bubble Drops
  • Positive Points:
    • Target players you know you can beat in one hit.
    • If you're over Forge 33, look for players under K33; when in doubt, scout it out.
    • Ghost your troops before attacking if you're too small to defend, speed your troops back unexpectedly fast and re-ghost them.
  • Negative Points:
    • Beware trap castles including:
      • Reinforcements
      • Castles with millions of T1 troops
      • Getting hit by a different player
      • Getting "Port Swapped" (see below)

Get Hit
  • Positive Points:
    • Win defense against enemy players weaker than you
    • Unghost your troops with your wall general up and sub-cities linked when they attack with a march you can win against, re-ghost if there's a danger of getting zeroed by someone else
  • Negative Points:
    • Getting zeroed either by misjudging the attacker's strength or getting hit by a third party.
    • If you aren't/can't ghost:
      • Archer bombed with too many Calvary troops in the castle
      • Calvary bombed with too many Ground troops in the castle
      • Siege bombed with too many Siege troops in the castle
      • Most of these bombs can be mitigated with enough Siege/Archers...other than the Siege bomb of course.

Play in Temples
  • Positive Points:
    • Hold temples with a 5 million power general (preferred with a level 10 dragon) and one T1 troop to move timer
    • Hold temples with enough troops to generate the maximum 2000 points per second (not recommended against most servers)
    • Hit enemy troops with counter-marches (archer > ground > calvary > archer)
  • Negative Points:
    • Losing marches in temples to counter-marches
    • Getting soloed by a stronger player while un-ghosted or getting rallied successfully

Things the ALLIANCE Can do

Set Traps
  • Positive Points:
    • Use smaller players as traps including:
      • Reinforcing allies being attacked with the counter troop (dragon color is usually a good indicator).
      • Port Swapping
      • Attacking players attacking your allies
Port Swap: If a player is in the middle of being attacked and teleports out of his space, another player can teleport into the SAME space and receive the attack as if they were attacked directly. Players cannot teleport while ghosting and the second player must land in the space before the enemy attack arrives at the square.
  • Negative Points:
    • Failed traps including
      • Reinforcing allies with the wrong counter troop or reinforcing with a march in an ally where the two of you combined cannot win defense
      • Losing a march in a temple
      • Failing a port swap (either the bait gets hit un-ghosted or the target cannot defend against the attack)

Things the SERVER Can Do

Purge Before and During
  • Positive/Anti-Negative Points:
    • Burn unbubbled castles before SVS starts and while SVS is ongoing in order to prevent the enemy server from getting points.
    • R5/R4 can green bubble a limited number of players for 8 hours during SVS.
  • Negative Points:
    • Getting zeroed while purging

Offer Throne to Players With Ares Wings
  • Positive Points:
    • Unlocking Thebes dragon will improve the defensive capabilities of castles.
  • Negative Points:
    • Players may go grossly negative competing for wings. To resolve this, you can also only offer it to players that go positive for Top 5.
Scout for Enemy Castles
  • Positive Points:
    • Post coordinates of un-bubbled enemy castles or occupied temples for your server to attack.
  • Negative Points:
    • Beware traps and spies on the server who may use this information to their advantage.
